DIAMOND E-2000® Connectors: Swiss Precision for Fibre Optic Networks
The DIAMOND E-2000® has been one of the most important connector standards for high-availability fibre optic networks since the early 1990s. Invented by DIAMOND SA (Losone, Switzerland), it combines a patented push-pull latching mechanism with a spring-loaded shutter — the foundation for its strong position in critical infrastructure.
What Sets the E-2000® Apart
- Push-pull latching: Engages automatically on insertion, released at the side lever
- Spring-loaded shutter: Protects the end face from contamination, provides automatic laser safety on disconnect
- Interchangeable colour-coded frames: Clear PC (blue) / APC (green) identification, mating-error prevention
- Zirconia ferrule with titanium insert: 2.5 mm standard diameter
- Active Core Alignment (ACA): Patented micro-alignment — typical insertion loss ≤ 0.1 dB

Per-Connector Quality Assurance
Every DIAMOND E-2000 pigtail is measured individually. The inspection certificate documents end face quality (interferometric), tilt angle (≤ 0.4°), concentricity (≤ 0.25 μm) and final inspection mark. Accessible via QR code on the connector or through shop.diamond.de.
