DIAMOND 4U Carrier System — Modular Chassis
The modular 19″ chassis system from DIAMOND: accommodates up to 12 pull-out Compact Modules (7TE) — up to 144 fibres in 4U. Scalable on demand, including accessories for full system integration.
What the 4U Carrier System Is
The 4U Carrier is the host chassis for DIAMOND’s modular distribution philosophy. It provides:
- Twelve 7TE slot positions for Compact and Front Modules
- Mechanical mounting (no electronics) — purely passive infrastructure
- Cable management for incoming feeds and patch cables
- Front access for module insertion / extraction without rack-side disassembly
- Compatibility with both DIAMOND Compact Modules and F4P-built custom modules in 7TE format

The chassis is designed for staged expansion: start with 1-2 modules, add modules over years as demand grows. No reconfiguration of existing modules required when adding new ones.
Module Mix
The 4U Carrier accepts any combination of 7TE-format modules:
- DIAMOND Compact Modules (splice + patch, E-2000® CompactRJ)
- DIAMOND Front Modules (patch only, E-2000® APC or CompactRJ)
- Custom F4P modules built to your specification in 7TE format
Mixed populations are common: e.g. four CompactRJ patch modules at the bottom for active connections, four splice-and-patch modules in the middle for feeder fibres, and four empty slots reserved for expansion.
Quality Assurance
Modules ship with individual pigtail measurement and per-pigtail test certificate (end-face quality, tilt angle ≤ 0.4°, concentricity ≤ 0.25 μm). The carrier chassis itself is mechanical-only and not test-relevant — quality is documented at module level.

Following the DIAMOND press release of 27 April 2026, Fiber Products GmbH is the central supplier for DIAMOND’s 19″ enclosure technology including the 4U Carrier System. DIAMOND continues to manufacture all connector components in Losone; Fiber Products handles DACH supply, system configuration and F4P-built custom modules.
