SlimConnect 1U Fiber Optic Splice Box — Fixed-Mount, up to 96 Fibers

The SlimConnect 1U is a fixed-mount fiber optic splice box that fits up to 96 fibers into a single 19″ rack unit — record port density with front-access serviceability for data centers, telecommunications and campus networks.

  • Up to 96 fibers in one 1U (44.45 mm)
  • Front-access design — service without rack dismounting
  • LC, SC, E-2000 & MPO/MTP fronts — APC & PC
The challenge

Fixed installation in a single rack unit: three points before you choose

A fixed box is more compact and less expensive — it assumes that access from the front is enough.

Access from the front is enough

Where there is rarely any rework after installation, the pull-out is a cost item with nothing to show for it.

Fixed means dimensionally stable

A fixed tray has no moving parts — whatever has been laid in once stays where it is.

The connector interface follows the installed base

LC, SC, E-2000 or ST — the adapter level is determined by the installed base.

The solution

The SlimConnect 1U in detail

Built for maximum port density in a single rack unit

A fixed-mount design refined around four things that matter most in dense fiber optic distribution: access, stability, connectivity and rack efficiency.

Front-access & pull-out cassettes

Complete front access for splicing and service — no rack dismounting or rear access required. Pull-out cassettes guide every fiber precisely and slide out fully for convenient patching, even at the highest port density.

Fixed-mount stability

A permanently mounted assembly with no moving modules delivers lasting stability for critical infrastructure. Pre-configured from the factory in 24, 48, 72 or 96 fibers for optimized standard applications without compromises.

Multi-connector fronts

Available with LC, SC, E-2000 and MPO/MTP fronts, in both APC and PC — single-mode and multi-mode in one box. DIAMOND E-2000 adds Swiss-precision connectivity with a spring-loaded shutter, typically ≤ 0.1 dB insertion loss.

Compact 19″ 1U mounting

Just 44.45 mm high and 19″ rack-compatible with standard fasteners — 47% more capacity than conventional 1U solutions. Defined bend radii of ≥ 30 mm keep G.657.A1/A2 bend-optimized fibers within spec.

Why Fiber Products

Four reasons to source the SlimConnect 1U from us

Made in Europe

The F4P systems are manufactured in Europe — short paths from design to production, even for custom populations.

One rack unit, fixed tray

No pull-out, no base carrier — the compact solution when only one U is free in the rack.

Data sheet and part number for every version

Every available version is documented. The enquiry goes out with the part number, not with a description.

One connector system across the entire line

The same E-2000® connection level in every form factor: consistent handling, one spare-parts profile, no system breaks in the installed base.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the SlimConnect 1U

The questions planners and installers ask most about the fixed-mount SlimConnect 1U splice box.

What makes the SlimConnect 1U’s port density so high?

Up to 96 fibers fit in just 44.45 mm of height — around 47% more capacity than conventional 1U solutions, and more than the typical maximum of 72 fibers on competing 1U products. The space saving compounds at scale: a telecommunications provider with 10,000 fibers needs only 55 rack units instead of 105 with conventional 48-port systems — more than a complete 42U cabinet saved. The box mounts in any standard 19″ rack, and its fixed-mount build has no moving modules for lasting stability.

Which connector variants are supported?

The SlimConnect 1U is available with LC for the highest packing density, SC for backbone and industrial long-distance links, and E-2000 or MPO/MTP for high-speed connections up to 400G. DIAMOND E-2000 adds Swiss-precision connectivity with an automatic spring-loaded shutter and typically ≤ 0.1 dB insertion loss. APC and PC variants are available for both single-mode and multi-mode fibers, including G.657.A1/A2.

Which applications is the SlimConnect 1U ideal for?

Data centers with 40G/100G/400G links and the highest space requirements, telecommunications providers running 5G backhaul and FTTH roll-outs, campus and enterprise networks, edge computing sites with limited rack space, and colocation providers maximizing customer ports per rack. Wherever port density per height unit is the constraint, the SlimConnect 1U frees up rack space.

How does the maintenance-friendly design work?

Front-access design means all splicing and service happens from the front, without dismounting the box or needing rear access. Cassettes slide out fully for precise fiber management and convenient patching. Defined bend radii of ≥ 30 mm keep G.657 bend-optimized fibers within spec for long-term stable connections, and the structured coupling arrangement keeps even the highest port density clear and easy to work on.

Which configurations and operating conditions apply?

Standard configurations cover 24, 48, 72 and 96 fibers, pre-configured as a fixed-mount assembly and available in LC, SC, E-2000 and MPO/MTP — for multi-mode and single-mode, including G.657.A1/A2. The box operates from -5°C to +45°C in standard IT environments and technical rooms. The housing is cold-rolled steel with a powder-coated RAL 7035 finish. F4P systems are built with German Engineering and made in Europe.
