DIAMOND Wall-Mount Distributor: Flexible Fibre Optic Solution for Any Installation

DIAMOND Wall Distribution Modules: Compact Fibre Distribution on DIN Rail

DIAMOND wall distribution modules enable compact fibre optic distribution via DIN 35 mm top hat rails — the ideal solution for switching cabinets, outdoor distribution points and decentralised network nodes across the DACH region. The modules combine a robust aluminium housing with the proven DIAMOND E-2000® CompactRJ connector system and ship with 100% measurement inspection.

DIAMOND wall distribution module with DIN-rail mounting

Unlike classic 19″ splice boxes, DIAMOND wall distribution modules are not designed for rack mounting but for DIN-rail mounting in switching cabinets, floor distributors or decentralised distribution points — wherever compact, easily accessible fibre distribution with low to medium fibre counts is required.

Construction and Module Design

All three variants share the same basic construction: an anodised aluminium housing with DIN-rail clip on the front or side panel, mountable at four positions each rotated by 90°. This gives installers maximum flexibility for module orientation within the cabinet.

  • Mounting: DIN-standard 35 mm top hat rail (no 19″/U rack format)
  • Housing: Anodised aluminium, EMC-rated and mechanically stable
  • Cable entry: Multiple openings on different sides, standard with M20 cable gland
  • Internal partition: Intermediate layer divides the module into a splice storage area with splice clamping strips and a patch panel area
  • Accessibility: Removable side covers and hinged central section — bend radii are reliably maintained
  • Connector system: Modular fit-out with DIAMOND E-2000® CompactRJ couplings (singlemode APC/PC or multimode)

The Three Variants Compared

DIAMOND offers the wall distribution module in three coordinated form factors that differ in coupling count, maximum fibre capacity and mounting direction:

Variant Couplings Pigtails / Fibres (max) Dimensions (W × H × D)
Standard 6 × E-2000® CompactRJ 12 45 × 113 × 135 mm
Side-mounted 6 × E-2000® CompactRJ 12 135 × 113 × 45 mm
24 Ports 12 × E-2000® CompactRJ 24 90 × 113 × 135 mm

Important for sizing: The absolute maximum capacity per module is 24 fibres (24-port variant). For higher fibre counts, several modules are mounted side by side on the DIN rail, or other form factors such as the Future Box (rack-based) are used. Partial fit-outs are possible in all variants.

Connector Configurations and Colour Coding

The E-2000® CompactRJ couplings follow the DIAMOND standard colour coding — an important tool for mating-error prevention in cabinets with multiple fibre categories:

Connector Geometry Connector (Frame) Coding Plate / Release Lever
SM 9 μm APC Green Green
SM 9 μm PC Blue Blue
MM 50 μm OM3 Beige Black
MM 50 μm OM4 Beige / Erica Violet Erica Violet
MM 62.5 μm Beige Beige

Specific colour codings are available on request. An IP65-protected variant of the E-2000® couplings is also available on request — useful for outdoor applications or dust-laden industrial environments.

Order Number System

DIAMOND uses a modular order number system that unambiguously encodes all configuration parameters:

G8V — R — FV 0 — XX — YY — ZZ

  • R (Version): 1 = Standard · 3 = Side-mounted · 5 = 24 Ports
  • XX (Coupling count): 01–12
  • YY (Pigtail count): 01–24
  • ZZ (Connector geometry): 01 SM PC · 02 SM APC · 03 MM 50 · 04 MM 62.5 · 05 MM 50 OM3 · 07 MM 50 OM4

Partial fit-outs are transparently represented — for example a Standard module with only 4 couplings and 8 pigtails for a planned staged expansion.

Quality Assurance: 100% Inspection of Every Module

Every DIAMOND wall distribution module is fully measured after fit-out — no sample inspection. The test certificate documents for each individual pigtail:

  • Connector end face (visual and interferometric inspection)
  • Tilt angle (maximum ≤ 0.4°)
  • Concentricity (maximum 0.25 μm)
  • Final inspection “passed” as binding release criterion

The test certificate is accessible via QR code on the module or through shop.diamond.de. This end-to-end traceability is particularly relevant for public sector tenders and regulated industries (railway, energy, telecommunications).

Typical Application Areas

DIAMOND wall distribution modules are the right choice when the following requirements coincide:

  • Fibre count 4 to 24: More than a typical floor outlet, less than a 19″ splice box
  • DIN-rail switching cabinet: Integration into existing DIN 35 mm architecture (e.g. alongside switches, power supplies, I/O modules)
  • Serviceability: Modular cassette construction, hinged centre section for on-site service
  • Decentralised distribution points: Outdoor cabinets at FTTH distribution points, industrial halls, building handover points
  • Fit-out flexibility: Partial fit-outs for staged expansion

Fiber Products as Central Supplier

Following the DIAMOND press release of 27.04.2026, Fiber Products GmbH is the central supplier for the 19″ enclosure technology and the wall distribution modules. DIAMOND has discontinued in-house production of these form factors but retains the entire connector and component range in its own manufacturing in Losone.

For you as a customer this means:

  • Seamless supply of DIAMOND wall distribution modules — both original products and integrated in F4P-own splice systems
  • 5 years manufacturer warranty on Fiber Products-built splice solutions
  • German logistics and fast DACH availability
  • Expert advice on the right variant for your specific use case

FAQ: DIAMOND Wall Distribution Modules

How many fibres fit in a wall distribution module at maximum?

The absolute maximum capacity is 24 fibres — reached in the 24-port variant with 12 E-2000® CompactRJ couplings. The Standard and Side-mounted variants are designed for 12 fibres (6 couplings). For higher fibre counts, multiple modules are placed side by side or rack-based solutions like Future Box are chosen.

Are the modules suitable for 19″ rack mounting?

No. Wall distribution modules are explicitly designed for DIN 35 mm top hat rail mounting — typically in switching cabinets or decentralised distributors. For rack mounting use DIAMOND Fusion Box (rigid) or Future Box (sliding) in 1U/2U format.

Which connector types are possible?

The wall distribution module is designed for the DIAMOND E-2000® CompactRJ system. Singlemode variants (PC blue, APC green) and multimode variants (OM3, OM4, 62.5 μm) are available in their respective colour coding. An IP65-protected variant is available on request.

Can the module be expanded later?

Yes, partial fit-outs are possible and represented in the order number system. You can initially order a Standard module with 4 couplings and later expand to 6. The order number system unambiguously documents the delivery state.

How is quality verified?

Every module is 100% measured after fit-out (no sample inspection). The test certificate with tilt angle (max. 0.4°), concentricity (max. 0.25 μm) and final inspection mark is accessible via QR code or shop.diamond.de — important for tenders and regulated industries.

What warranty applies?

For F4P-built solutions with DIAMOND components we grant 5 years manufacturer warranty. The DIAMOND components themselves ship with 100% test certificate and carry the DIAMOND factory specification.

Conclusion

DIAMOND wall distribution modules are the compact, DIN-rail-based answer for fibre counts from 4 to 24 — in switching cabinets, floor distributors and decentralised outdoor distribution points. The anodised aluminium housing, thoughtful internal division into splice storage and patch panel, and the 100% measurement inspection make them the first choice in applications with maintenance and documentation requirements.
