How to order correctly: article numbers and type codes
Fiber Products is an official partner of DIAMOND (Losone, Switzerland) and supplies the complete E-2000 programme for B2B use: connectors, adapters, pigtails, patch cords and the associated housing technology — from the Fusion Box for fixed installation, through the pull-out, lockable Future Box and the 19-inch subrack (BGT, 4U, up to 144 fibres), to the wall distribution module for the 35 mm DIN rail. Every E-2000 configuration is uniquely defined at DIAMOND — via a numeric article number (e.g. 109012) and a type code (e.g. G7G1-24R-048V412). The prefix of the type code identifies the housing format:
- G7G1 — Future Box 1U: 19-inch splice box, pull-out, tiltable and lockable
- G7G3 — Fusion Box 1U: fixed 19-inch splice box for permanent installation
- G8V1 — wall distribution module (WVM) for the 35 mm DIN rail
The remaining characters encode the population: 24R stands for 24 E-2000 Duplex adapters (Compact RJ), 24S for 24 E-2000 Simplex adapters; the final block describes the pigtail count, fibre type and polish. You do not have to decode the type code yourself — for the enquiry, one of the following three routes is enough:
- Quote the article number — the safest option. Copy the article number or type code from a datasheet, a previous order or a tender into the enquiry form.

Why E-2000?
Laser safety as standard: the spring-loaded shutter closes automatically when the connector is withdrawn. It protects the eye from emitted laser radiation and the ferrule from contamination — without loose dust caps that get lost in the field. This is why E-2000 is the established choice in environments with laser-safety requirements (Class 1 operation), in government facilities and in data centres. Push-pull and packing density: the push-pull mechanism allows one-handed mating and withdrawal, even in densely populated distribution panels. Combined with duplex adapters (Compact RJ), 19-inch panels can be used efficiently — up to 48 or 60 ports in the Future Box 2U.
Standardised interface: the E-2000 mating interface is standardised in IEC 61754-15. This secures compatibility across product generations and makes the system tender-ready. With APC and PC polish, variants are available for return-loss-critical links as well as for standard applications.
