Buy E-2000 Connectors (B2B): Sourcing from the Official DIAMOND Partner
Procuring E-2000: three points that make an enquiry complete
State the type, polish and fibre type and you get a quotation. Send a description and you get a query back.
Type and polish first
APC or PC, singlemode or multimode: those two details determine half the part number.
Simplex or duplex
The form factor of the connector follows the adapter in the installed base, not the other way round.
Quantity and date
Project quantities and delivery date belong in the same enquiry — otherwise it gets costed twice.
How to order correctly: article numbers and type codes
Fiber Products is an official partner of DIAMOND (Losone, Switzerland) and supplies the complete E-2000 programme for B2B use: connectors, adapters, pigtails, patch cords and the associated housing technology — from the Fusion Box for fixed installation, through the pull-out, lockable Future Box and the 19-inch subrack (BGT, 4U, up to 144 fibres), to the wall distribution module for the 35 mm DIN rail. Sourcing runs through a short enquiry: you quote the article number or describe your requirement, and we reply with a quick quote including pricing and availability.

Enquire about E-2000
Article number to hand? Enter it straight into the form — we build the quote for the exact variant.
Every E-2000 configuration is uniquely defined at DIAMOND — via a numeric article number (e.g. 109012) and a type code (e.g. G7G1-24R-048V412). The prefix of the type code identifies the housing format:
- G7G1 — Future Box 1U: 19-inch splice box, pull-out, tiltable and lockable
- G7G3 — Fusion Box 1U: fixed 19-inch splice box for permanent installation
- G8V1 — wall distribution module (WVM) for the 35 mm DIN rail
The remaining characters encode the population: 24R stands for 24 E-2000 Duplex adapters (Compact RJ), 24S for 24 E-2000 Simplex adapters; the final block describes the pigtail count, fibre type and polish. You do not have to decode the type code yourself — for the enquiry, one of the following three routes is enough:
- Quote the article number — the safest option. Copy the article number or type code from a datasheet, a previous order or a tender into the enquiry form.
- Describe your requirement — fibre count, fibre type (singlemode/multimode), polish (APC/PC), simplex or duplex, mounting situation (19-inch rack, wall, DIN rail). We match the right configuration.
- Attach a datasheet or photo — for example when extending an existing distribution frame. We identify the matching variant and confirm it in the quote.
Typical sourcing cases we handle this way:
- New fit-out of 19-inch distribution panels in a data centre or equipment room
- Extension of existing DIAMOND distribution frames with additional ports, pigtails or splice trays
- Government and security projects with laser-safety requirements
- Replacement needs: individual connectors, adapters or patch cords to match the existing population

The goods come from the production plant in Losone, not from the grey market. In tendered projects that is the difference between proof and a claim.

Individual components such as connectors, adapters, pigtails and patch cords are costed per project by quantity and assembly — state the quantity and specification directly in the enquiry form. The binding figure is the written quote for the specific configuration.
Four reasons to source E-2000® through us
Authorised distribution partner of DIAMOND SA
Swiss precision from a single source — E-2000® with typ. ≤ 0.1 dB insertion loss and a spring-loaded laser protection shutter.
Part numbers instead of descriptions
Every version we can supply has a part number. That makes the enquiry unambiguous — and the quotation binding.
Data sheet and part number for every version
Every available version is documented. The enquiry goes out with the part number, not with a description.
One connector system across the entire line
The same E-2000® connection level in every form factor: consistent handling, one spare-parts profile, no system breaks in the installed base.
Calculate and configure first, then enquire
Three tools with real part numbers — check the optical budget and put your configuration together live in 3D.
Attenuation budget calculator
Add up connectors, splices and fibre lengths and check the total attenuation against the budget — before the OTDR acceptance test measures it.
DIAMOND configurator (3D)
Configure Future and Fusion Box with E-2000 live — with a real part number for each configuration, ready for your enquiry.
Subrack configurator
Populate a 19″ subrack slot by slot with splice and front modules — including the bill of materials for your quotation.
Why E-2000?
Laser safety as standard: the spring-loaded shutter closes automatically when the connector is withdrawn. It protects the eye from emitted laser radiation and the ferrule from contamination — without loose dust caps that get lost in the field. This is why E-2000 is the established choice in environments with laser-safety requirements (Class 1 operation), in government facilities and in data centres. More on this in the article E-2000 in government and military networks.
Push-pull and packing density: the push-pull mechanism allows one-handed mating and withdrawal, even in densely populated distribution panels. Combined with duplex adapters (Compact RJ), 19-inch panels can be used efficiently — up to 48 or 60 ports in the Future Box 2U.
Standardised interface: the E-2000 mating interface is standardised in IEC 61754-15. This secures compatibility across product generations and makes the system tender-ready. With APC and PC polish, variants are available for return-loss-critical links as well as for standard applications.
